ALL LADIES TREASURE HUNT...RULES AND REGULATION

RULES & REGULATIONS 

1. Introduction

The Benita “Shopping on the Hunt” 2011 will be run from Kuala Lumpur to Nilai in Negeri Sembilan on Saturday 14 May 2011, with an overnight stay for participants at the Nilai Springs Resort Hotel. The hunt is open only to women participants, with two or four persons in a vehicle.



2. Theme & Objectives

The theme of the event is “Let’s Shop on the Drive”.
The objectives of the hunt are to:
a.      Promote teamwork among the treasure hunters.
b.      Foster the spirit of goodwill and espirit de corps, intra and inter.
c.      Encourage critical thinking in the treasure hunters.
d.      Promote at least one shopping area along the drive.
e.      Promote safe driving.

3. Participation 

Participation is open to women only. Participation is for two or four persons per vehicle. Each participant is entitled to, among other things, one-night accommodation (twin-sharing) at Nilai Springs Resort Hotel, one dinner and one breakfast (flag off). The prize-giving will be held during dinner on Saturday 14 May 2011 at Nilai Springs Resort Hotel.

4. Entry Form

The entry form can be downloaded from benita-wwwbenita.blogspot.com, fill in the details and fax it to 03-26989978

The closing date for submission of entries is 22 April 2011

5. Collection of Goodies & Briefing

Participants can collect car stickers and goodies at the 12th Floor of Wisma Bernama in Jalan Tun Razak between 4pm and 6pm on Thursday 12 May 2011.

A briefing will be held for all participants at the same premises at 6pm on that day.

6. Venue of Start and Finish

The hunt will be flagged off at the Wisma Bernama car park in Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur at 7.30am on Saturday 14 May 2011 and will end at 3.30pm on the same day at Nilai Springs Resort Hotel in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. All participants must be at the flag-off venue by 6.30am for verification of entry. Final briefing by the clerk-of-course will be at 7.00am.

7. Prizes

Tentatively, the following prizes will be awarded:

First:                                       RM3,000
Second:                                   RM2,000

8. Eligibility of Vehicles

All participating vehicles must be in compliance with the Road Transport Act and eligibile for use on public roads. Vehicles entered for this hunt cannot carry any trade plate. Participants must have adequate knowledge of their vehicles and should be able to present the vehicles for an inspection, if necessary, before the start of the event.

It is recommended that the vehicles be equipped with a speedometer with reading in kilometres and a trip meter (which is a standard feature in all vehicles). It is also recommended that participants bring along safety gadgets such as a vehicle fire extinguisher, a first-aid box and so on.

9. Insurance and Indemnity

The organiser and sponsors cannot be held responsible for any accident that the participants or vehicles may be involved in during the event, or for violation of traffic rules and regulations by the participants.

Participants are fully responsible for the safety of themselves and their families or relatives and friends, and cannot make any claims against the organiser, sponsors or other officers.

Drivers must be in possession of a valid insurance policy that covers them against third-party liability. Drivers, navigators and passengers must sign the indemnity form.

10. The Rights of the Organiser

The organiser retains the right to:
a. reject any entry.
b. cancel or postpone the hunt, without notice, should there be less than 30 entries or for unavoidable reasons. Any claim arising out of the cancellation or postponement will not be entertained.
c. deny the participation of any person or vehicle after inspection shows their ineligibility.
d. deny the participation of any person felt to be unsuitable for participation for health reasons, deformity or instability due to being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
e. dismiss any participant who brings along additional passengers whose names  have not been entered in the entry form.

11. Caution

The “Shopping on the Hunt” 2011 is not a race and, as such, speed will not contribute towards winning. A speeding offence may result in penalty points and disqualification.


12. Interpretation of Rules

The organiser and clerk-of-course of the hunt reserve the right to determine any matter not stated in the rules and regulations.
